In Gestalt approach, the focus of the work is on the here and now. Awareness Coaching provides awareness of what is happening, perceptions, emotions and the way of thinking in the present moment during session to help understand and develop self awareness.
According to Gestalt perspective, there is a need behind each behavior. The longer it takes to fullfil this need, the more unsatisfaction, tension, boredom will be felt. When the need is fulfilled, we feel relaxation and completeness. Being aware of the real need can help to leave patterns which do not bring satisfaction and to sooner fulfill the need.
WHAT IS STOPPING US?
We may stop ourself when we are not aware of what we want, or when we do not feel that we can handle the consequences of our actions. As long as we stop ourself, self esteem and wishes may decrease. Being aware of how we stop ourself can help us make new choices and experience the new.
